Marker Pens

The first marker pen was patented in 1910 by Lee Newman who utilized a soft tip made of hard-pressed felt. Generally speaking, all marker pens have their own ink source with a porous tip made from felt or ceramic materials. They first hit the U.S. market in the 1960s and very quickly became a must-have writing tool. Their instant popularity led to the creation of better markers designed for expanded applications at home, work and in the classroom. Today, marker pens are an incredibly smooth writing instrument with liquid ink technology that resists bleeding through the thinnest paper. Many different colors, styles, and tip widths are readily available. The quick drying water-based ink helps combat smudging and smearing and is nontoxic. Pilot has implemented a special tip feed technology that prevents the pens from drying out when the cap is accidentally left off for long periods of time. Like other Pilot pens, they are great for signing, marking faxes, and have a visible ink supply to alert for refills. Thanks for visiting the Pilot Pen website.
